Retired Rides : Gravitron

The Gravitron had a short life at Alton Towers. Installed after the removal of the Turbo Star, it was quite a popular ride for the people visiting Fantasy World.  The ride offered a new experience of weightlessness, and used special light and sound effects to heighten the thrill.

The spaceship like carriage span pretty fast, but did not lift. This speed gave the riders the opportunity to lift their feet from the ground, as the forces generated from the spin, stuck them to the walls.

The ride left the park in 1992. The land then remained unused, until the construction of Oblivion.
