The Alton Mouse
was another coaster installed at the same time as the Alton
Beast, and were situated next to each other in Talbot Street.
The ride constisted of a high climb on the lift hill, then
lots of the tight corners, and steep, but short dips and climbs
that define a mouse coaster. Built by Vekoma, the wheels are
situated almost in the centre of the cars, giving the rider
the feeling that the car is leaving the tracks. It also had
a strange tilted hill-climb, giving us the impression that
there was once a rotating tunnel around the hill-climb.
The ride was
dogged by complaints of its comfort, and also by complaints
from local residents about the general noise level coming
from the area of the park, and was eventually closed along
with the other rides in the area.
