Why?, Where?, When?
This attraction started life as the Cine 360 which was installed
way back in 1981 at the same time as the Log Flume. The Cine
360 version of the cinema used a large projector in the centre
of the dome that projected an image across the whole dome
interior, making you feel surrounded by the movie. It was
redesigned in 1988, and became the 3D Cinema we see today.
But What
Is It Like?
This attraction operates on a rather simple basis and is common
in many parks, you are given a pair of uncomfortable and unstylish
glasses to put on, then you are shown a film of bungled together
clips which are generally made so that they 'hit' you. After
the twenty-minute show and after feeling like being stuck
in a sauna you'll probably walk out with double vision.
Saying that
this attraction does have its advantages albeit a few, if
it's pouring down outside and you need somewhere to take refuge
this is a brilliant place because as the temperature increases
in the dome you'll quickly dry out.
Luckily with
planning permission granted for a new "5D Cinema"
this attraction should thankfully be replaced in the near
future.
The entrance
can be tricky to find, it is through the gift shop at the
front of the 3D Cinema.
