The Gardens : Conservatories

Built in 1824, the same year as the Gothic Prospect Tower, the Conservatories were designed by Robert Abraham, after an earlier design by Thomas Allason was abandoned. The cast iron domes were forged by the Britanna Ironworks, with the whole thing amounting to the cost of £13,000.

Originally it housed palm trees and other oriental plants.
