Several things about the new coaster have already been confirmed by Alton Towers, John Wardley or other sources.

Opening Time March 16th 2002
Theming Unknown, although water features will be a major part
Riding Position Prone (Laying face down), under the track
Trains 3 trains, 7 rows of four people
Groundwork Began November 2000

Ride Testing January 2002

The following are current rumours that are circulating, and are NOT confirmed

  • AIR will possibly feature a world's first element, possibly the first flying coaster to go underground, or some new kind of inversion.
  • AIR will be themed around some kind of military offence against Nemesis.
  • The loading station will be themed as a missile silo.
  • A waterfall will cover the entrance to the tunnel.
